Crosslake Fibre has announced that it will deploy Ciena’s 6500 Packet-Optical Platform with WaveLogic 5 Extreme in its CrossChannel Fibre system between Slough (UK) and Paris (France). This technology promises enhanced bandwidth, resilience, and low latency for critical network routes.

Alongside this, Crosslake will integrate Ciena’s Manage, Control & Plan suite and the Channel Margin Gauge app (from Liquid Spectrum) to dynamically scale capacity — planned to initially range between 600–800 Gbps, adapting to evolving demand. The CrossChannel system is intended for data, media, cloud, financial and carrier customers who need very high performance connectivity.

The CrossChannel project follows Crosslake’s design philosophy of building physically diverse, low-latency routes with modern optical technology to ensure capacity, resiliency, and efficient operations.
