In July 2020, Crosslake Fibre announced its CrossChannel Fibre subsea cable project, a next-generation, low latency system linking Slough, UK, and Paris, France. The 550 km fibre-optic route (including a 149 km submarine segment) features 96 fibre pairs and is designed to be physically diverse of existing infrastructure.
The project reached a major milestone when it became Ready For Service on 7 December 2021. The system now provides high-capacity, ultra-low latency connectivity between Equinix LD4 in Slough and Interxion PAR3 & Equinix PA7 in Paris, with additional Points-of-Presence in both cities.
